Visiting Professors at UG - researchers invited to FMPI
As part of the 6th edition of the “Visiting Professors of the University of Gdańsk” program, fifteen researchers have been invited to the University of Gdańsk.
Two of them will visit the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.

Andy Chia (National University of Singapore, Singapore), invited by dr hab. Tomasz Paterka, Prof. UG (Institute of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics).
The visit will include 15 hours of teaching on nonlinear quantum dynamics and synchronization, as well as 9 weeks of research on the quantization of open systems and the feasibility of simulating nonlinear quantum dynamics.

Andrew Vince (University of Florida, United States), invited by dr hab. Filip Strobin, Prof. UG (Institute of Mathematics).
The purpose of the visit is joint research (and a publication) concerning Iterated Function Systems (IFS), as well as teaching activities in fractal geometry and graph theory.
The “Visiting Professors of the University of Gdańsk” program was created as part of the Excellence Initiative – Research University at the University of Gdańsk. Its goal is to increase the internationalization of the University in the areas of scientific research and teaching. The program enables short-term (2-4 weeks) and medium-term (5-12 weeks) visits by outstanding international scholars, fostering the establishment and development of international research collaboration.
